ANA COMMISERATES WITH AKINWUMI ISOLA’S FAMILY
The Association of Nigerian Authors (ANA) has expressed its
heartfelt condolences to the family and relatives of the late Yoruba literary
icon, Prof. Akinwumi Isola.
A press release signed by Mallam Denja Abdulahi, the President
of ANA on Tuesday, said they received the news of the death of the literary
giant with shock and pray that his soul should rest in eternal peace.

The late Prof. Akinwumi Isola who wrote, produced and acted
a number of movies, which include O leku, 1986; Efusetan Aniwura (1961/1962)
passed on to glory on the 17th of February 2018 at the ripeful age
of 83.
The release further described the deceased, who was a former
lecturer at Obafemi Awolowo University as a “literary icon who advanced Yoruba
literature beyond our imagination”.
The literary body also expressed their condolences to the
family, current Executive Governor of Oyo State, Senator Abiola Ajimobi and to
the people of the pen community for the loss of the literary icon.
